March 11 — A Prayer, Fifteen Years On

March 11.

This date comes around once again.

Fifteen years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, a disaster that brought immense loss and sorrow to the country. The powerful earthquake and the devastating tsunami that followed claimed thousands of lives and changed countless others forever.

Time has moved forward.

Cities have been rebuilt.
Lives have continued.
But on this day each year, we pause.

We remember those who were lost.
We remember the families who still carry grief in their hearts.

Some memories never fade.

Yet even in the midst of sorrow, people have continued to walk forward — supporting one another, helping one another, remembering together.

As football supporters, we know a song.

It is a song that tells us to keep walking when the storm is strong,
to lift our heads even when the road ahead feels dark.

At Anfield, that song echoes from the stands.

But perhaps its meaning goes beyond football.

It is also a quiet message for anyone facing sadness or loss.

March 11.

On this day, we remember.
On this day, we pray.

And somewhere in our hearts, softly, we sing:

You'll Never Walk Alone.
