The starting lineups for the Premier League Matchweek 6 game between Crystal Palace and Liverpool have been announced. Kickoff (Japan time) is at 23:00.
The detailed Liverpool squad is shown in the LFC graphic.
In today’s match, Hugo Ekitike is suspended, so Alexander Isak is expected to start. As anticipated, Isak takes a place in the starting lineup.
However, manager Arne Slot has indicated that Isak is not yet ready to play a full 90 minutes, so substitutions will likely be needed.
Looking at today’s starting eleven, the configuration of the attacking line is particularly interesting. Slot tends to favor Cody Gakpo, but Gakpo starts on the bench today.
That raises the question: who will take the left wide attacking position?
I’m paying close attention to Florian Wirtz — perhaps he will take a more left-leaning role. Isak is also capable of operating on the left wing, so it will be something to watch once kickoff begins.
As for full-backs, Liverpool have multiple options. Today, Conor Bradley is on the right and Miloš Kerkez is on the left.
Jeremie Frimpong and Andy Robertson are both on the bench, so depth is there.
In central defense, Giovanni Leoni’s injury raises concerns, but with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté available, there should be no immediate problems — though longer-term solutions will be needed.
Regarding Crystal Palace’s squad, here it is.
The opponent today is strong, having not lost in the new season, so this will be a tough match.
However, I believe Liverpool have the power to beat them. Even though it’s an away game, I hope they can put in a solid performance and come away with all three points.
Today, more than ever, I hope Liverpool keep control of the game and find the perfect timing to send Wataru Endō into the action.
