As Liverpool kick off the 2025–26 season as reigning Premier League champions, August turned out to be a thrilling month full of memorable performances. And the fans have spoken: Dominik Szoboszlai has been voted Liverpool’s Player of the Month for August.
Szoboszlai’s work rate has been nearly relentless. Even when deployed as a makeshift right-back—far from his natural position—he still delivered for the team, most notably with a stunning free kick against Arsenal. At this stage in the season, he’s certainly one of the fitter and more dependable members of the squad.
With the season still long, rotating minutes will likely be necessary. But right now, it’s hard to imagine Liverpool without Szoboszlai. Capable of doing so many things—and doing them all at a high level—the Hungarian captain may well become a true key man for the team this season.
According to Liverpool FC, Szoboszlai earned a commanding two-thirds of the fan votes in the poll. In second place was Hugo Ekitike. Congratulations to Szoboszlai!
